Thinkbook 13s (Intel)

This laptop requires firmware systematic for the soundcard to knead. Check Advanced Linux Sound Architecture#ALSA firmware.

xf86-video recording-intel causes Firefox and Chromium to freeze in X11 session. Removing solves the issue.

Operation with a HDD caddy

When you install an SSD in the place of the plate HDD drive and you want to receive your HDD still inside the laptop, it is contingent to install information technology in the place of the optical screw a specific "HDD caddy".   • Bluetooth (0a5c:21e6 Broadcom Corp. BCM20702 Bluetooth 4.0 [ThinkPad]) appears to be utilitarian, even during standby or hibernation.

    • If the system fails to wake from eternal sleep, it can recede synchronize with the internal audio card and speakers/headphones May fail to work. In this event, set down the scheme to sleep out, and waken it again and audio functionality should be restored.
  • The fingerprint sensor is a Validity VFS5011, on hand in fprint.
  • thinkpad_acpi:
    • To toggle Fn-Operate, press Fn + Esc, this will toggle the LED on the keyboard. While the Fn LED is on whol Fn functionalities work as intended out of the box.
    • Controlling the 'glow I' LED is apparently not possible.
    • fan control does not appear to wreak.
  • Graphics and Video:
    • With the integrated GPU, xrandr backside crash patc attaching or detaching displays connected via the dock.
    • The built-in miniDisplayPort testament sometimes chuck I²C issues into the kernel log.
    • Ironware video acceleration is extremely recommended as it performs importantly better than CPU decoding of large media files.

  • On the AMD interpretation, the internal mike requires a nitty-gritt version of at least 5.8-rc7 with CONFIG_SND_SOC_AMD_RENOIR=m and CONFIG_SND_SOC_AMD_RENOIR_MACH=m. 4-pin jack plugs work with a Linux center of 5.7.
